A Gathering For Men

Behind the Wall is an ongoing gathering for men who want something more than the usual conversations. A space to slow down, speak honestly, listen deeply, and explore what is actually happening beneath the surface of our lives.

There is nothing to perform here. Nothing you need to have figured out.

Just a willingness to show up.

HONEST | RAW | REAL

HONEST

A place to speak openly about what is actually happening in your life, not just what we usually tell people.

RAW

You don't need to arrive polished or have the right words. There is room for uncertainty, discomfort, emotion and whatever is genuinely present.

REAL

No performance. No pretending. Just men showing up as they are and practising being more real with themselves and with each other.

A Fortnightly Gathering for men

What this is

Behind the Wall is a small, closed group of men who meet every second Wednesday evening for two hours, facilitated by a registered clinical psychologist. The group stays the same across [X] sessions so trust has time to build. Once it begins, it is closed to new members. You won't be asked to perform, to fix anyone, or to say more than you choose to.

Who it's for

Men who are tired of managing how they come across and want a room where that can loosen. You don't need to be in crisis, and you don't need any experience of this kind of work. You do need to be willing to turn up consistently, listen well, and keep what you hear in the room.

An evening in the room

6:00 Arrive and settle · [6:15 Opening] · [6:30 Core practice or topic] · [7:15 Open conversation] · 7:50 Close · 8:00 Finish

How the room is held

Honest conversation can bring up strong feelings. That is expected, and the group is set up for it. Participation is always optional. Anyone can pause or step out at any time. Each man speaks only for himself, we don't advise unless asked, and what's said stays in the room. [Add any expectation about arriving sober.]
